Have you been wearing orthotics for years?

Before attempting the Transcend Ultra Trail Run you need to make sure your orthotics are still functioning well enough to carry your feet through the whole run. At Doubleview Podiatry, our Perth Podiatrists will use the specialised Zebris gait analysis system to ensure your orthotics are suitable for your running needs.

Did you know that if you have a cushioning top cover on your orthotics it needs to be replaced every 12 months. Or approximately every 500 kilometres, to be providing adequate shock absorption. As a special bonus for Transcend Ultra Trail runners who book in for an orthotic review will receive a complimentary replacement of  your cushioned top cover with your consultation.

If you’re wearing off the shelf orthotics, you should upgrade to custom-made so that you have the best support available to keep you going. These are specialised insoles created from a 3D scan of your feet and will help you perform at your best during the run. Our Podiatrists love to help runners reach their goals, so give us a call today on 93415166 to have your orthotics assessed.

Does your foot pain stop you from running at your best?

You may not have heard of the ground reaction force that affects your feet when you’re running. This is the force exerted by the ground onto the body  in contact with it. It relates to Newton’s third law of motion – for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. When you’re running, your feet are pounding the ground with a HUGE amount of force, and the ground reaction force  through your feet can cause pain and dysfunction when not managed properly. Orthotics fix your foot pain by redistributing this force away from key areas and providing shock absorption to prevent overuse injuries. Our Podiatrists in Scarborough are experts at fitting runners with orthotics that help them run at their best so give us a call to  book in
