Are You Worried About Your Child’s Feet?
Parenting is stressful enough without having to worry about your child’s feet developing properly. Have you noticed that their feet turn in when they’re walking, or that their arches have dropped?
These may be signs of an underlying problem that needs to be treated while they’re still young, to prevent issues later in life. Pain isn’t normal, and if your child has foot pain, they need to be assessed by a Podiatrist.
Bring them into the clinic for an assessment that will prepare them for a lifetime of healthy feet. If treatment is not needed, you can tick ‘visit Podiatrist’ off your to-do list and get back to the busy job of being a parent.
A lot of problems are simply labelled as ‘growing pains’ but our Perth Podiatrist can identify medical conditions that may need treatment to keep your child pain free and moving happily. Watch out for these red flags:
- your child doesn’t want to play sport because of foot pain
- they are in pain after playing sports
- they have trouble sleeping because of foot pain
- they often trip or fall
- they have pain in multiple joints eg. ankles, knees, hips and/or shoulders.

Should I be worried about my child’s flat feet?
In most cases, flat feet do not lead to issues in adulthood. But, for some children, flat feet can cause foot, leg or lower back pain, limiting their ability to stand, walk, run or perform daily activities. Tight tendons may be the cause of flat feet, or bony deformities in the foot from birth or injury may also be a factor. Obesity can contribute to flat feet and other foot health issues. Heel pain
Heel pain is not uncommon in children and can be caused by few different conditions – achilles tendonitis, heel fracture or bursitis. But, the most common cause of heel pain in children is Sever’s Disease. This overuse injury occurs in predominantly athletic children from around 7-15 years of age. Our Perth Podiatrist can assess your child’s feet and provide a treatment plan to get them back to their activities as soon as possible.

Orthotics Guarantee
We believe in the Doubleview Podiatry Zebris Orthotic Program and from our experience and clinical assessments, we feel that individual prescription orthotics are the best course of action for you at this time and will give the best clinical results. However, we appreciate that the purchase of orthotics is a significant investment, so we want to make this decision as easy as possible by taking a large part of the risk ourselves – through our unique Orthotic Guarantee.
If in the first 60 days after receiving your orthotics, you do not feel that the orthotics have significantly helped your current condition, or you are at all unhappy with the product, we will:
- Make the necessary adjustments to your devices to ensure you are 100% satisfied. These adjustments will be provided at no cost to you. (Note: the first orthotic review is included in the cost of the orthotics.)
- If these adjustments do not correct the issue or you are just not happy with the devices, we will give you a full refund of the cost of the orthotics.
Children
Some children have a tendency to in-toe or out-toe or have other types of developmental issues including growing pains or frequent tripping/falling. Custom foot orthotics can often be part of the solution both short and long term, depending on the situation.
This is by no means an exhaustive list of conditions that custom foot orthotics can help. If you are wondering if custom foot orthotics are for you we would encourage you to make an appointment with our doctor for an evaluation and frank discussion about the potential benefits.

Common Questions Our Clients Ask Us

Lunula laser is known to be one of the quickest ways to get rid of nail fungus, as is Canesten® Fungal Nail Treatment Set. Both options may take as little as four weeks to eliminate nail fungus.
- What is the fastest way to cure toenail fungus?
Each person’s fungal nail infection is different, so there’s not one overall fastest option. Some people may find that Lunula laser works quickest for them, whereas others may find a topical treatment such as Canesten® the fastest treatment option.
- What is the most effective treatment for toenail fungus?
Lunula laser is often heralded as the most effective treatment for toenail fungus.
