Heel Pain

Heel pain can occur for a number of different reasons. Most people experience it first thing in the morning or during/after activity. Poor foot biomechanics and inadequate footwear are the two most common causes of heel pain. Many people suffer from either low arched or high arched feet, and these foot types can put excessive strain on the soft tissues in the heel. The first step to treating the pain is ensuring you wear adequate footwear. If specific biomechanical correction is needed, orthotics are required. In some cases, mobilisation and dry needling may be needed to assist in restoring correct functioning of the foot.
